The Three Witches

A project in Animation using a Flash Template

The use of templates enables all of a mixed ability group to succeed. Because every starts with something that works, no-one fails. Each pupil improves the design of the template with their own skills whether they be artistic, innovative or problem solving. Each product is unique reflecting the creativity of each student.

Lesson 1: Designing a witch starting with a prepared template.

Accessing the Flash template - its structure

Changing the design of the shape and colour of the figure using the vector based drawing tools within the Flash software.

Lesson 2: Designing a background and foreground and sending the Flash file to two other partners by email as an attachment.

The use of layers.

Lesson 3: Designing the movement of each witch.

Importing the new designs of witches.

How the figures move along their own layer.

Lesson 4: Adding a cauldron with a fire underneath for the witches to move around.

Importing a symbol (the cauldron) and placing it in the scene.

Lesson 5: Adding sound recorded by the students themselves and other sounds from a library.

Use of the microphone, saving a recording and importing this into Flash. Placing the sound in the desired place.
